Drywall, Drywall everywhere.

Kitchen Redo - Post Demolition

After the dust settled - Plastic Barrier up. Cabinets, sink, tile and paneling gone. Wall separating the kitchen and DR disappears and frame built for the bar.

Woodford Kitchen - "Before", kind of.

Technically, the actual "before" pictures can be found many pages deep in this blog. The color palette went from dirty lavender and pink, to spritely appletini and grounded brown. The green and brown were used to eradicate the former (lavender), and were meant to be temporary. Now, years later, we have reached the summer of our ultimate discontent with the kitchen. Missing handles, sticking drawers, burned countertops (which we inherited), and a well-timed IKEA kitchen sale spurred a kitchen renovation. The plan: cut the wall separating the kitchen from the dining room in half. Add an overhanging bar on this new peninsula. Replace all cabinets, find a new stove and dishwasher (we've been co-habitating with a moody portable dishwasher), and so on.

Revisiting the Project

After a multi-year hiatus, we are revisiting the Woodford Project. The front landscaping is going wild. What a difference a year or two makes. In addition to building raised moss-rock planters, and planting grass and wildflowers, we planted an oak tree last year, hung a swing and porch swing, and are now in the midst of a kitchen renovation (pictures of this coming).
